The world constantly changes. From our neighborhoods, to the people in our lives, to our own mindsets, nothing stays the same forever. Keep the good, dissolve the rest.

Dissolve is a project originally founded in November 2021 by Michael Chavez also known creatively as Vezael. Dissolve started out simply as a creative outlet to release thematically and aesthetically cohesive illustrations relating to ideas of community and how Vezael viewed the world around him. Then, after running its initial course, it was time to expand the possibility of what Dissolve could be.

Initially revolving solely around posters, digital prints, stickers and zines as available products, Dissolve was heavily centered around concepts of community unity and DIY. Having been part of various subcultures that revolve around these same ideals, we knew it was imperative to keep DIY and people power at the core of Dissolve. Then, in early 2023, Dissolve expanded into the realm of streetwear. Starting out screen printing in his father’s garage, Vezael had always ran Dissolve as a one man show, eventually experimenting with different media and printing methods to bring the full illustrative potential of Dissolve to life.

2024 saw another pivotal addition for Dissolve. Through the vision of wanting to expand beyond a simple streetwear brand, Dissolve Magazine was established as a periodical blog (with the plan of eventually migrating to print) based on the desire to uplift local and likeminded musicians, artists of all media, and anyone who embodies DIY to their core.

Intended to highlight and supply the kinds of people we see in ourselves and those around us, Dissolve is a brand meant for the creative and unrefined. Dissolve is feeling the human touch, seeing the perfect in the imperfect, and existing outside common conventions. Dissolve is for the graffiti writers, underground musicians, street skaters, political printmakers, and anyone who values the unity of the people around us in doing what we live for despite its distaste to the common public.

Dissolve It All.
